The first annual Northwest Chicken Council (NWCC) Reception and Conference is set in Portland, OR Nov. 6-7, 2014 at the RiverPlace Hotel in downtown Portland, according to NWCC President Bill Mattos. The reception, hosted by allied members, will begin on Thursday Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m.  The breakfast meeting and conference start the next morning at 8:30 a.m. Speakers include Brian Clem, a Representative in the Oregon State House of Representatives serving District 21 in Salem. He is the current Chair of the Land Use Committee, as well as serving as a member of the Health Care and Agriculture and Natural Resource Committees.  Bill Mattos, President of the Northwest Chicken Council, will be speaking on the economic impact of the poultry industry in Oregon and Washington.

Registration for industry and allied members is $50 per person, including spouses. Foster Farms and Draper Valley Farms are industry members and they plan to have representatives at the meeting and conference. More than 25 allied companies are also members of the NWCC.
