During the week of March 29-April 4, the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service confirmed four additional cases of virulent Newcastle disease in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, California. USDA also confirmed the first case of vND in a small flock of pet chickens in Coconino County, Arizona, which was announced earlier today.
Affected flocks are quickly euthanized. Together, these actions will help us prevent additional disease spread and eradicate the disease more quickly.
