USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said today that it is extending the public comment period for proposed performance standards for salmonella and campylobacter in not-ready-to-eat comminuted chicken and turkey products and raw chicken parts. The new due date for comments is May 26.

FSIS said it made the extension in response to a request made by a coalition of trade associations. View the federal notice here.
