British Columbia has had 104 commercial poultry flocks affected by highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) since the virus first struck the Canadian province’s poultry industry on April 13, 2022.

Four farms had HPAI appear in commercial poultry flocks in the province on November 10 and two more farms became confirmed infected sites on November 12. Of the six new cases, four have been in Chilliwack. Abbotsford and Langley Township each had one farm affected, according to information from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). Read more
