The spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) continues in the United States and Canada, with three more flocks in the U.S. and two more in Canada becoming confirmed cases of the disease. HPAI was confirmed in two flocks in Indiana on November 6, according to information from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).

Affected flocks include a flock of 20,800 commercial meat ducks in Elkhart County and a flock of 4,800 commercial duck breeders in La Grange County.

This brings the number of commercial poultry flocks to be affected by HPAI in Indiana in 2025 to 29. Also in the U.S., APHIS reported that a flock of 113,000 commercial meat turkeys were stuck by HPAI, with this occurrence also being confirmed on November 6. Read more
