Last year Goodlatte, who represents the 6th District, asked the feds to grant Virginia a reprieve from the ethanol mandate. They refused. Now he is stumping for legislation to kill the mandate outright. It’s a noble cause. Thanks to the ethanol mandate, just under one-third of the nation’s corn gets turned into fuel for cars and trucks. That drives up the price of food for people and feed for poultry and livestock.
