A group of protesters from Direct Action Everywhere, a grassroots animal rights organization, over the weekend protested at the Santa Rosa home of Jason Arnold, the director of operations at Perdue Poultry’s Petaluma facility.
The Berkeley-based group, also known as DxE, alleges that chickens at the company’s farms are subjected to animal cruelty and held signs and chanted, calling on Arnold to “cut ties with Perdue.” Bill Mattos, the president of the California Poultry Federation, decried DxE’s actions. Read more
