CPF/NWCC support keeping meat and poultry plants operating

In response to President Trump’s Executive Order to keep meat and poultry plants operating during this national crisis, California Poultry Federation/Northwest Chicken Council President Bill Mattos issued the following statement: “We support President Trump’s decision to protect our country’s food supply during these challenging times. “The poultry industry has been designated as an essential part of our nation’s infrastructure. In fulfilling this responsibility, our main goal goal is to keep our workforce safe, while providing West Coast families with the nutritious poultry products they have come to depend on. Our processing plants are running today as we work with elected representatives and public health officials, to ensure the full transparency of steps we are taking to protect our employees from the COVID-19 pandemic.  Read more
