Animal rights activist Zoe Rosenberg was sentenced to 30 days in jail and an additional 60 days served through a jail alternative after being convicted on charges related to a 2023 incident in which she unlawfully entered a Petaluma Poultry facility and stole four live chickens.

In addition to the time served, Rosenberg will be required to pay more than $100,000 in restitution to Petaluma Poultry, a subsidiary of Perdue Farms. She will also be on probation for two years and is forbidden from going near any Petaluma Poultry facilities, reported KQED. The sentence was delivered on December 3 in Sonoma County (California) Superior Court. Read more
