One California University and one Junior College, both serving the poultry industry In big ways, each received $7,000 from U.S. Poultry and Egg Harold E. Ford Foundation.

Fresno State University and Modesto Junior College both received these funds as part of the Industry Education Recruitment Funding Program. The money is awarded to aid in recruiting and retention efforts aimed at enhancing the programs at each institution.

The Harold E. Ford Foundation was created to provide funds to train and educate students for the advancement of the poultry industry.

Katy Tarrant of Fresno State University and Tim Truax, Modesto Junior college both told the California Poultry Federation (CPF) that they were excited to be chosen again for the award, and they both are looking forward to make their programs better in the coming year.

The California Poultry Federation (CPF) is a member of US Poultry & Egg Association, home of the Harold E. Ford Foundation. Bill Mattos, president of the CPF, said both the Fresno and Modesto schools run bold and effective poultry and egg education programs, and “our members are delighted to help both of them in any way possible.”
