Assemblyman Kevin Mullin, D-San Mateo, withdrew proposed legislation Wednesday that would ban the sale of meat and poultry fed on medically important antibiotics for the purpose of fattening livestock for market, saying that he didn’t have enough support by legislators. The bill’s intention was to preserve the effectiveness of antibiotics in humans.
