Since December 2014, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has confirmed over 200 cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5 in the Pacific, Central, and Mississippi Flyways (migratory bird paths). Effective June 19, 2015, producers in states affected by Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in commercial poultry that are planning to ship poultry or poultry products into California must comply with Quarantine #HQ-20150611.1 and the associated entry requirements. These requirements are in addition to California’s routine poultry entry requirements (Certificate of Veterinary Inspection or National Poultry Improvement Plan certification).
