Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) announced today the formation of a Senate Chicken Caucus to help improve congressional discussion of issues facing the nation’s chicken industry, ranging from international trade to renewable fuels. “This is an important way to demonstrate that we are listening to you and we want you in our states,” Coons told broiler industry leaders at the National Chicken Council annual conference here today. Senator Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) will serve as co-chairman of the group, Coons said.  Senators Thomas R. Carper (D-Del.), Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.), Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), and John Boozman (R-Ark.) are also founding members, he said, adding that he expects to have at least a dozen members of group in short order.
