Consolidated Grain and Barge Co. (CGB) operates more than 100 grain facilities with access to ship via barge, rail and truck. Our specialty grains involvement stretches back to the 1990s when GMO crops started to become more popular. Our end-use customers desired to maintain a supply chain of Non-GMO products for both feed and food use. Since the 1990s, CGB has remained one of the largest exporters of NGMO corn and soybeans in the country.

As the organic movement gained traction in the U.S., several of our farmer customers asked us to get involved in handling organic grains. We noticed that the organic commodities needed to travel several hundred miles by truck to find a market. In the fall of 2020, we introduced our first two organic-handling facilities, providing local delivery to customers. Now, four years later, we’ve grown to fifteen facilities certified to handle organic grain. We are excited to be a part of this industry and look forward to continued growth. Our primary shipments to the west coast via rail include organic corn, soybeans, wheat, and oats.
