Veterinary Services is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Denise Brinson as Senior Coordinator, National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP).  The National Poultry Improvement Plan is a cooperative Industry-State-Federal Program devoted to elimination and control of specific diseases of poultry breeders as well as administration of the notifiable avian influenza program.

Dr. Brinson was born and raised in Swainsboro, Georgia, and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and a Masters of Avian Medicine from the University of Georgia. She joined VS in 2011 as the Veterinary Coordinator for the National Poultry Improvement Plan. She has served as the acting Senior Coordinator of NPIP for the past 6 months. Before joining VS, Dr. Brinson spent 10 years working in the poultry industry including primary breeders, commercial table egg layers, commercial broilers, commercial turkeys, poultry diagnostic laboratories, hatcheries, processing plants, egg plants, etc. In addition to her industry experience, she brings excellent communication and organization skills to this important role.

Dr. Brinson will be located in Conyers, Georgia, at the NPIP office. Please join us in welcoming her into her new position, which became effective July 29.
