A commercial poultry flock in California has tested positive for the H5N8 subtype of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus following higher-than-usual mortalities among chickens. The World Organization for Animal Health received Follow-up Report No.7 dated Feb. 13, from the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).
