Meat, poultry companies mobilize disaster relief

Meat and poultry companies are contributing to disaster relief and recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Hormel Foods Corp. announced a donation of four semi-trailer loads of food to assist Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The donation includes two semi-trailers, or 110,400 Hormel Compleats microwave meals and two semi-trailers of Hormel brand pizza toppings white chicken cuts, which is approximately 156,000 packets, according to the company.
