New form of poultry disease found in Washington State

A serious new form of viral poultry disease which is not known to infect humans or other animals has now been confirmed in one flock of birds in Washington state. Known as Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV); the viral infection can result in high death losses in flocks, affecting young birds significantly.
