Tim, Carol and Norm Nilsen (fourth, fifth and sixth from left) hosted Assemblyman Mike Gipson (third from left) last week at Norm and Carol’s home south of Sacramento. Gipson prepared two deep fried turkeys and the meal, working in the Nilsen’s kitchen for three hours before his colleagues, Assemblymembers Adam Gray, Marc Levine, Adrin Nazarian and Jimmy Gomez arrived. Gipson’s staff members also attended. Gipson met Tim Nilsen at a poultry event in Sacramento recently and asked to prepare his version of deep friend turkey, which was spicy and tasteful. And he knows how to prepare side dishes as well. The Nilsen’s neighbor prepared delicious cobbler for dessert!
