Poultry and aquaculture will be the leading segments in animal protein production this year, according to the latest report from Rabobank. In its Global animal protein outlook 2024, the bank forecasts that while total production of animal protein will continue to rise in 2024, it will be at a slower pace than last year.

In contrast to poultry and aquaculture, beef, pork and wild catch seafood will see production lower. By geography, Rabobank notes that overall animal protein production growth will still be relatively robust in Brazil, will increase marginally in China and Oceania, and accelerate in Southeast Asia, but will contract in other areas.
