William (Bill) Lyons of Modesto has stepped down from his post as Agriculture Liaison in the Office of the Governor. His resignation took effect Feb. 14. In his resignation letter to Gov. Newsom, Lyons wrote, “It has been my honor to serve as Agricultural Liaison in your Administration. But I feel strongly that it is time I reduce my public role to spend more time with my family, including my seven grandchildren, and my community. POLITICO reported that Gov. Newsom issued a statement that read: “I am grateful to Bill Lyons for his service to this administration -his institutional knowledge and agricultural experience were particularly helpful during my first year. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with him in the future and wish him well in his endeavors.”   Read more
