Study: Wind can carry antibiotics, other microbes

Wind may be carrying antibiotics, bacteria and antibiotic resistance genes in particulate matter from feedyards, researchers at Texas Tech Univ. concluded in a study published online in the National Institutes of Environmental Science’s Environmental Health Perspectives. The study’s authors said it is among the first to detect and quantify antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes. Read More
