Videos showcase California food and those who grow it
An Oxnard onion producer that converts onion waste into enough power to run its 350-employee plant. A food truck owner who uses local and organic produce. A West Sacramento grower and seed producer who teaches top chefs how to cook what she grows. These are just three of the many highlights of a compelling new video series that tells the story of food – and who grows it – throughout California. Created by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, the series, “Growing California,” has 20 videos on the department’s website, cdfa.ca.gov and five more in production.
